Love is Everywhere

This was a bit of hope, strung up on our barn this summer.  Amidst rain and more rain this delightful sun graced our barn for a few days, shining down happiness.  This has been a challenging season for me.  And yet as the days wind down and I begin to make plans to move on I know this has been a rich place for me.  And if anything it has made me love all of you in my life all the more.

This week I received a package of warm socks from my sister Alice.  Toasty socks with no holes and no darning needed.  I can't tell you how wonderful it is to put cold feet into new thick socks.  At night they keep out the chill during day they keep out the damp.  Never underestimate the importance of socks.  And then I recieved a book from Emily.  Adolescent literature which I gobbled up in 3 days.  How good to escape into a future world, to get outside of my own crazy head.

I reflect on the visits of this year.  The many people who came to stay with me and listen to me and be my friend.  Thank you.  To you who have have written, who have called, who have shared in this journey.  Thank you.  Good-bye Caretaker farm.  Where the road will lead I do not know, but I am ready to step out into the great unknown again.  Change has come again.  As the leaves are turning and falling and becoming humus I too must fall before I can enrich this world.  Thank you all for your love during this season.
