New Beginnings

I have entered that 30th year with joy.  A farm breakfast decorated with art and flowers sitting at my place.  Planting tomatoes, one of my favorite activities.  A lunch of Mac and cheese(a rare treat) with the last of our asparagus.  A surprise visit from my dear friends Hannah and Jeff as they made their way east to Boston.  And a Journey home, to see my sister who flew east for a few days.  A Salmon dinner, wine, ice cream cake with great conversations.  Bridget told me 30 brings great new things.  I am choosing to believe that as I enter this new decade feeling no different then I did when I entered my 10th year.  And today I sit listening to our President.  Speaking to the Muslim world, it feels this is a time for healing, for new beginnings, for life.

Looks like a full bucket of strawberries, Kate. How many of those picked actually made it into the bucket??? I remember taking you to the berry patch and feeling guilty because we only weighed what was in the trays - we should have weighed you before and after the picking - that would have given them a much more accurate account of how many berries we picked!
