Day 2

I still want to be a farmer... Thus far we are having marvelous weather...the kind that makes you want to farm. Blue skies and cool mornings that turn into warm afternoons. I have now learned how to take care of the chickens, pigs, and cows. The pigs are aggressive beast when they know you have food, the cows are lovely and calm...and a bit nervous by new comers but I feel drawn to them, though at times their size is quite daunting. And we have lots of chicks...chicks we are trying to keep from being slaughtered by a mink who got the first batch of chicks here. We are caring for baby plants in the greenhouse and preparing the ground for spring. I have uprooted asparagus and picked up Raspberry vines. I have spent endless hours in conversation and in silence, working the earth. I have heard the coyotes howling last night and seen marvelous stars.... All in all my time has been good so far. My eyes are heavy and I feel a bit disconnected from the world. For better or worse. You are all thought of and missed.

Wow, I didn't know there were coyotes in that part of the country. Neat. I'm glad you're doing well and having good weather. I looked at the website--what a beautiful place! I love you!
